Panasonic launches rough and tough tablets Toughpad FZ-G1 and JT-B1


Panasonic launches rough and tough tablets Toughpad FZ-G1 and JT-B1 at Rs   69,000 


Panasonic India has added two more Windows 8 and Android tablets to ToughPad series- Toughpad FZ-G1  and Toughpad JT-B1 for Indian market which are meant for users working in industries with challenging conditions such as  military, healthcare, automotive, aviation, telecom, public safety, construction  utility, retail, manufacturing.

The 10-inch Toughpad FZ-G1 with 1920x1200p resolution is powered by Windows 8 operating system. It can function as a personal computer in a rugged package.

It comes with 10-finger multitouch as well as a digitiser (stylus). It runs on a 2.9GHz Intel i5 processor and packs 4GB RAM (maximum up to 8GB). It has  HDMI, USB and 3.5mm earphone jacks, all secured under a flap.

One add more ports, depending on the needs of clients. This model is IP65 certified (water and dust resistant) and can withstand being dropped from a height of 120cm. It is at Rs 1.75lakh.

The 3G tablet weighs 1.1kg and has battery that can last 8hours.
 With IP65 certification Panasonic ToughPad JT-B1 is the Android tablet that can bear the impact of fall from150cm height. It runs on  Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) . It is powered by a chip1.5GHz dual-core TI OMAP set, with 1GB RAM. It sports  a 13MP back camera with LED flash, while a 1.3MP unit is used in the front. Its battery can last up to 8 hours. It has a price tag of Rs 69,000.

"Today's launch of mobile computing devices is a significant stepping stone towards our aim of doubling the contribution of B2B segment to Panasonic¿s overall revenue by 2015," Panasonic India Managing Director Manish Sharma said.

The company also lunched  two handheld computers run on Windows Embedded CE 6.0 Professional operating system. The ToughPad JT-H300HT is an IP64 certified model can survive from  a fall from 2metre height and costs Rs 45,000.
